IIS typically involves itself in concrete construction and repair when such work is necessary prior to installation of protective surfacings, or in the construction of secondary containment dikes. Often concrete slabs are deteriorated to a point where removal and replacement make more sense than repair. Various cements and admixtures are available for use where plants are unable to wait the normal 28 day hydration cycle for concrete cure for resinous surfacings to be applied. During a one week shutdown, for example, IIS is able to remove and replace concrete slabs, as well as install resinous surfacings over them.
